March 17, 2014 - Italian is the theme for this year’s Cholmondeley Pageant of Power in June, the organizers have announced.
A rival to Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Cheshire-based Cholmondeley (pronounced Chumley) event is staged in a parkland setting offering good access to ultra-rare classics and the latest modern machinery, many of which tackle the event’s 1.2-mile course at full pelt.
Cars confirmed for the Italian theme include a 1951 Ferrari 212 F1 Monoposto racer, as well as a 1964 Iso Rivolta GT and a 1974 Osella Abarth wedge racecar.
On top of the priceless automotive turnout, the event to be staged on the weekend of 13-15 June also includes rally rides, superbikes, powerboats and aerial displays. Kicking of the event on the Friday evening will be a concert by Status Quo, followed by another concert with fireworks on the Saturday night.
